Fundu Lagoon

About

Fundu Lagoon lives up to the 'barefoot luxury' concept with Vogue describing it as 'Twenty First Century Robinson Crusoe and the epitome of shabby chic'. Accessible only by boat, we love the isolation, the calm and don’t get us started on the pristine coral reefs. Eighteen ocean-view rooms and suites (six suites have private plunge pools) of canvas and makuti (thatch), raised on wooden decks in indigenous forest. Fundu has two restaurants, three bars, pool, spa, PADI dive centre, deep sea fishing centre and snorkelling trips. Safaris Walking, canoe/boat. Almost all safaris are beneath the waves. Fundu Lagoon is home to a fully equipped PADI 5 Star dive centre, ‘Dive 710’ with two resident PADI dive instructors and a fleet of dive boats offering diving & snorkelling safaris on wrecks, fringing reefs and wall dives. The unique coastal rainforest harbours flying foxes, colobus monkeys, endemic bush-babies and tropical birdlife whilst the marine life will leave you in awe with sea turtles, whales, dolphins, and pristine coral reefs. Local Activities Snorkelling Game fishing (1-6 guests, half day or full day, pre-booking essential) Dolphin safaris Watersports – wakeboarding, waterskiing, windsurfing, Sunset dhow cruises Local village walks and spice tours Fundu Lagoon is a great destination for an intimate wedding with the Indian Ocean as a backdrop. For something special, set sail in the resort's dhow boat with champagne and canapés on board and enjoy a private romantic moment or a celebration with up to sixteen of your nearest and dearest. Fundu Lagoon awesome for ‘big’ birthdays

I’ve been fortunate to visit Fundu Lagoon several times since it first opened and it always inspires me. Ellis, Marcus and Alex have created something very special. So special that I arranged my wife’s 50th birthday at Fundu! The very professional management team ensured everything went like clockwork and all of our guests had an amazing time. The diving at Misali is not to be missed - both my daughters learned to dive here and they’ve never found anywhere better. If you like fishing spend a day with Rusty - he’s one of the very best fishing guides I’ve met and his boat and gear is immaculate. As you can see I am a big fan of Fundu Lagoon. Given my ‘day job’ is inspecting safari lodges, camps and hotels it’s not often I wax lyrical about anywhere - Fundu is unique....

Located on the Magical Kunene River in the far North of the country Serra Cafema is nestled on the banks of the river itself, the far side being Angola. The area here is outrageously beautiful and the camps location is superb.
